and directions

Naturalis has two entrances. Darwinweg 2 (coming by foot) and Mendelweg 2 (coming by car or bike). Right now, we only use the entrance on the Darwinweg side.

Public transport

Naturalis is easy to reach by using public transportation and within walking distance of Leiden Central train station. Exit the station on the LUMC side. The walking route is clearly marked from there. You can also take a bus from Leiden Central train station and get off at the Darwinweg/Naturalis bus stop, right in front of the entrance.

Naturalis currently has several temporary parking spaces. Parking tickets cost €7.50 per day. It is not possible to pay by the hour. The number of spaces is limited. We have four parking spaces for visitors with disabilities. If our parking lot is full, we can recommend the parking lot on Haagweg. From there, you can take a free city shuttle to Naturalis (and other locations in the city center).

The Municipal Public Health Service's (GGD) have a legitimate interest in requesting visitor data for intensive source and contact tracing. In principle, museums will cooperate with such requests. Visitors who do not want their data to be shared are better off postponing their museum visit until this special situation is over.
