Education plays an important role in promoting and achieving the Naturalis mission: to describe, understand and explain biodiversity for human well-being and the survival of nature. Naturalis participates in Dutch(applied) biology university curricula and offers high-quality research-based education. Our educational activities have a unique profile, based on the inextricable link between our taxonomic expertise, collections and research programs. All our research groups participate actively in education by offering academic courses and research projects for bachelor and master students.

PhD
at Naturalis

We currently have over 50 young scientific researchers working at Naturalis conducting their PhD and postdoctoral work. When people finish their PhD at Naturalis, we want them to leave as ambassadors of our institute and feel proud of having completed their studies at Naturalis.
