My background in biology and business enables me to bridge the gap between science and the private sector. I help companies and financial institutions recognise their close connection to nature. Together, we assess their impact on and dependence on biodiversity so they can respond strategically and contribute to a future where the economy and nature go hand in hand.

I strongly believe that the key to a sustainable future lies at the intersection of science and business. My fascination with this subject began during my Master's degree in Biodiversity and Sustainability. As I studied the adaptability of African ungulates and the monitoring of pollinators, I started to ask myself: how can we apply these vital findings to the real world?
To find out, I combined my Master's degree in Biodiversity and Sustainability with an understanding of business fundamentals. Today, I am driven by the desire to act as an active bridge between these two worlds. I help companies translate the existing wealth of scientific knowledge into strategic, responsible choices that genuinely protect our biodiversity and the environment.

My work (relating to natural capital) includes:
- I am working on various projects in collaboration with KPMG to help private-sector companies assess their impact on and dependence on biodiversity. Together, we share the vision of helping as many companies as possible—including those not required to comply with the CSRD.
- Commissioned by Biodiversa+, I have, together with KPMG, investigated how companies and financial institutions can make better use of publicly available biodiversity data. The report ‘Guide to using public biodiversity data in the private sector’ describes the current data landscape, identifies key barriers to the use of this data and discusses possible solutions to improve its use.
- I am also contributing to the development of THRIVE, designed to support companies (and other interested stakeholders) in assessing their biodiversity-related impacts and dependencies. Although THRIVE was developed in response to the CSRD requirements, it also offers valuable insights into potential risks and opportunities, enabling companies to make informed decisions.
- In addition, I am involved in the ‘Insect of the Year’ competition. Every year, five native insects compete for the title, each with a well-known Dutch personality as their ambassador. Through this campaign, we show everyone just how beautiful, surprising and important these little creatures are.
- I am also working on projects as part of our partnership with BNP Paribas. My focus here is on issues relating to natural capital, biodiversity and finance; a topical and fascinating intersection that is of great interest to me.
