This year, the 72nd Kor en Bottocht will take place. During this unique one-day expedition, paleontologists search the bottom of the Oosterschelde for fossils from the ice age. From Naturalis we connect live with the boat to see what the catch of the day is, and to experience the life on board. Of course, you may ask all your questions to our experts on site.

Since 1951, the ZZ10 has set sail from the port of Zierikzee. During this trip full of traditions, the bedding of the Oosterschelde is scraped with so-called 'kotten' (a kind of cage) in search of bones. Paleontologists and biologists join in to fish the finds out of gunk. At the end of the day, the bones go over to Naturalis, where they can be further examined. Many of the earlier finds are on display in the Ice Age hall.
During the live stream, we show how fishing and searching is done, and the experts explain why Ice Age bones can be found there and what they have found that day.
