Museum visit
questions and answers

Is the Sleutelpas valid?

Yes, one valid Sleutelpas grants an annual one-time free entry for one person (from 1 January 2026). Please book your tickets online in advance. If you book but then cannot come, we would hugely appreciate if you could cancel your visit, so we can offer your tickets to another visitor. More information on and the terms & conditions of the Sleutelpas.

Is my old Naturalis voucher still valid?

Yes, if there is no expiry date on the voucher, it is still valid. Please book your tickets online in advance.

Can I bring a pram or buggy into the museum?

As lift capacity is limited, please consider leaving your pram or buggy at home.  If this isn’t possible, then you’re welcome to bring it to Naturalis. Stroller wagons, bicycle carts, and bike trailers are not allowed in the museum on weekends and during school holidays. If you want to use one to carry children, then we might allow it on quieter days in the week.  Naturalis staff may refuse these at their discretion.

Are people with a disability entitled to free entry or a discount?

No, but a companion may come for free.

Are wheelchairs available?

Yes, we have a limited number available. Please ask a staff member to borrow a wheelchair when you arrive. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to book one in advance.

Are there accessible toilets available?

Accessible toilets can be found on the ground floor and 9th floor.

Rexperience
questions and answers

What is the Rexperience?

The Rexperience is no ordinary museum exhibit... it’s an entire experience! You’ll take a trip back in time to 66 million years ago when Trix the T. rex lived.  Who knows, you might even get to meet this mighty carnivore. Step inside the futuristic travel agency, enter the capsule, and get ready for an adventure. Will you be brave enough to travel back in time?

Will I see Trix’s skeleton in the Rexperience?

No, her skeleton can be found in the Dinosaur Era gallery. The Rexperience is about travelling back to the time when Trix lived.

What ages is the Rexperience suitable for?

The Rexperience is an authentic experience, with loud noises and scary effects. The Netherlands Youth Institute, which also advises on film ratings, has set the recommended age at 8 years old. Rexperience might be too frightening and unpleasant for younger children, so we strongly advise against bringing children under 8 years old. Children under 12 years of age can only visit the Rexperience if accompanied by an adult.

How long does the Rexperience last?

The experience lasts 20 minutes in total.

What time should I arrive at the Rexperience?

Please arrive five minutes before your time slot starts at the entrance on the 3rd floor.

What if I miss my time slot?

If there is still space, we can rearrange your experience. Please note we might not be able to do this on busy days.
