As a PhD candidate, I am investigating how climate change may affect pollinating insects and consequently impact Amazonian crops that depend on pollination. My research addresses the potential effects on both agricultural production and local communities that rely on these crops for food security and livelihoods. The outcomes of this work will support farmers and communities in anticipating potential economic losses and designing adaptive strategies.

Researchinterest
My research focuses on the influence of changes in biodiversity, particularly those caused by climate change, on human societies and the sustainability of the resources they depend on.
By studying pollinators, I can assess the potential impact of climate change on agricultural production. I then use this knowledge to prioritise areas for restoration, with the aim of supporting biodiversity and enhancing the livelihoods of local communities. At Naturalis, I also collaborate on a project to survey the Brazilian bee species in their collection, contributing to the development of a comprehensive platform that compiles data on these species.
