Our team is committed to a biodiversity-positive society. The transition to such a society requires knowledge and action. NL Biodiversity and Society delivers both. Our expertise in biodiversity, natural capital, change theory, transition assignment and co-creation forms the basis of our research and our tools.
Internshipopportunities
Our research group offers a wide range of internship opportunities around biodiversity. From insect taxonomy and innovative monitoring to pollination and greening the city and agriculture.
We often link fundamental taxonomic, ecological and evolutionary research questions to societal challenges. As an intern, depending on the topic, you will gain practical experience in fieldwork, taxonomy, advanced statistics, but also DNA (meta)barcoding, GIS and remote sensing, data management, science communication and working with companies or governments. All this within a dynamic, diverse research team.
Examples of recent projects include: monitoring of pollinators and their interactions, from data to local and global trends in pollinators, field research on nature-inclusive agriculture, lettuce pollination, citizen science, innovative monitoring for insects, natural capital and enhancing biodiversity in landscapes and the city.
