Picture Library

The collection of visual materials stored in the Picture Library includes photographs, slides, prints and paintings.

The collection of photographs and slides includes visual material derived from:
- the scientific collection (e.g. mounted animal skins)
- objects from exhibitions
- nature and scenery photographs
- Dubois and the missing link
- expeditions and research
- gemstones and minerals
- fossils
- geological objects

The collection of prints and paintings includes works by M.A. Koekkoek, W. Spies, J. Wolf, Kawahara Keiga and Raden Saleh.

Visual material can be borrowed for publication in newspapers, books, multi-media projects and advertising purposes in return for a fee. Pictures can be supplied in digital format. The copyright on all material will remain with Naturalis.
