Library

The library collection is of national importance with holdings of 65.000 books, 8000 different professional journals and 200.000 papers on zoology and geology. Around 1250 new items are added each year. Many topics in the library are linked to Naturalis' research themes and geographic specialisations. You can find information on biodiversity, the fauna of the Netherlands and the evolution of the Indo-Australian and Mediterranean regions.

The library is open to the public and provides ample opportunities for study and research.

The Naturalis Digital Academic Repository, a digital archive containing the museums scientific publications, is being maintained by the museum library.
